I was reading an article on MSN Money a few weeks ago about stocks that were undervalued, and this company was included on the list. The company was JDS Uniphase Corp. (Symbol: JDSU).

JDS Uniphase Corp. is the worldwide leading provider leading provider of broadband test & measurement solutions and optical products for communications, commercial and consumer markets. The company offers test and measurement systems and services for telecommunications service providers, cable operators, and network equipment manufacturers. In addition, the Company offers components, modules and subsystems for optical communication, display, security, medical/environmental instrumentation, decorative, aerospace and defense applications.

When the 4th quarter in 2005 ended, their revenue had already increased by 52% to $571.2 million. However, their net had also increased by 42% to $109.1 million - this higher net loss was mainly caused by research & development expenses. Overall, I think the company is doing pretty well. They were recently featured on MarketWatch as one of the undervalued stocks that currently represent great buys (it was highly recommended by Patrick Dorsey, the director of equity research at Chicago-based investment researcher Morningstar Inc.).

I have been watching this stock for quite some time and I have to tell you, I’m very impressed with its price performance.

Above is the price history (including the volume) in the past 12 months. The price does fluctuate a bit, but it keeps climbing and I’m not really sure when it’s going to reach its peak. Looking at the volume, this month represents the highest volume within the past 12 months. Heh..Looks like there were a lot of interests in this stock in the past couple of weeks.

I honestly think that this stock might have a great chance to hit a much higher price/share in the next few months. Given the industry that they’re in, the historical price data, and the services they offer, yes I’m absolutely convinced that the price will go much higher in the next few months….
