Nighthawk Systems, Inc. (Symbol: NIHK) provides wireless, remote monitoring and power control equipment and services to their customers. Their products are easily installed and operated by anyone, regardless of technical capability. Their customers include over 40 utilities, dozens of State Departments of Transportation, Federal and State government facilities (including electric utilities, traffic control, computer systems, commercial lighting, and irrigation), Fortune 500 companies, and Internet service providers.

On April 4th, 2005, they announced that Nebraska Public Power District placed a second order for their proprietary CEO-700 whole house disconnect units in March. This second order tripled the number of unites originally ordered in March (Nighthawy announced the first order from Nebraska Public Power on March 8th, 2005). Nebraska Public Power District is Nebraska’s largest electric utility, with a chartered territory including all or parts of 91 of Nebraska’s 93 counties.

On April 5th, 2005, they announced the shipping for 250 Hydro 1 units to Contact Wireless of Alburqueque, New Mexico. This shipment is part of a larger water conservation program being implemented by Contact Wireless – utilizing proceeds from a $500,000 grant awarded by Governor Bill Richardson’s $10 million Water Innovation fund. This could lead to the installation of thousands of units within New Mexico alone.

Click here if you want to see the list of their press releases (Thanks to Harrisdirect for providing this list for free). Moreover, they currently have two patent applications pending at the US Patent Office. One is called “Remote Disconnect for Utility Meters” (used for the whole house disconnect systems), and the other one is called “Paging Remote Disconnect Systems” (used for the remote wireless control for turning on and off electrical and telephonic lines.

Currently the stock is traded at 0.21/share. But it was once traded as high as 0.35/share. I have no doubts that it’ll bounce back and maybe hit as high as 50 cents/share by the end of this year. Keep this one under your radar, guys. I’m definitely going to monitor this one pretty close.

Quote of the Day:
Stocks are simple. All you do is buy shares in a great business for less than the business is intrinsically worth, with managers of highest integrity and ability. Then you own those shares forever. – Warren Buffett
